Barbara Lewis

Barbara Lewis is a broadcast journalist with 35 years of experience in television and radio. Her expertise includes in-depth interviewing on medical and scientific topics, as well as on-set interviewing with leaders in the business, political and entertainment fields.

Barbara is a contributor and healthcare analyst for the television program, “Inside Indiana Business with Gerry Dick”. She is also a sought after interviewer and narrator for medical videos and web based educational courses.

She was the co-founder and host of “Sound Medicine,” an award-winning public radio program produced by the Indiana University School of Medicine and WFYI Public Radio from 2001 until 2015.  The weekend program earned numerous awards, including best documentary, best writing and best special interest program by the Society of Professional Journalists.

Barbara began her broadcast career in California, where she was the lead producer of the morning drive-time news for KSDO news-talk station in San Diego. She also served as a news anchor and reporter for TV news stations in San Luis Obispo and Sacramento, California. Barbara later moved to Indianapolis, where she served as an evening news anchor for 10 years at WRTV.

Barbara holds a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from Oregon State University.
